Tina Helmberger defeated Melissa school board Secretary Leland Dysart for the Place 2 seat on the board, 153-37.
Board President George James was unopposed for re-election to the Place 1 seat.

Anna school board President Ty Chapman retained the Place 5 seat on the board Saturday by defeating challenger Becky Woodard, 223-102.
In the board's other race, Larissa Thornburg defeated Mark Jones for the Place 7 seat, 240-84.

Driskell Edges Hendricks
Darren Driskell defeated former Anna mayor Jon Hendricks for the Place 4 seat on the Anna City Council on Saturday, 135-123.
Kevin Anderson was unopposed for re-election to the Place 2 seat, and Jeff Caponera was unopposed for the Place 6 seat. Caponera was recently hired as a sergeant by the Anna Police Department, making him ineligible to take office.
Current Mayor Pro Tem Billy Deragon will retain the Place 6 seat until the council decides how to replace him.
